Playing Santase online with friends brings an engaging experience to a classic card game known for its strategic depth. Also referred to as Sixty-Six, Santase is a two-player game aimed at reaching a score of 66 points first. In cases where neither player achieves this, the player who takes the last card wins. The game utilizes a reduced deck of 24 cards, comprising the 9s through Aces. Each player is dealt six cards, and one card is revealed as the trump suit.

Gameplay Mechanics

The player who leads begins by playing a card, followed by the opponent. The higher card of the same suit wins the trick, with Aces being the highest. Alternatively, any card from the trump suit can take any card from another suit.

After each round, players draw one card from the remaining deck, with the winner of the previous hand drawing first.

Kings and Queens

If a player holds both the King and Queen of the same suit, they can reveal them to score points—20 for any suit or 40 for the trump suit. This action must occur at the beginning of their turn while leading.

Exchanging the 9

A player holding the 9 of the trump suit may exchange it for the displayed trump card, provided they are leading at that moment.

The Run-off

As gameplay transitions once all deck cards are drawn, it becomes imperative for the last winner to lead first. If the opponent possesses a card of the same suit, they are obliged to play it; if not, they must play a card from the trump suit if available. Play continues until one player scores at least 66 points or all cards have been played.

Card Values

The values assigned to cards in Santase are critical for strategy. Notably, Tens have greater power than face cards:

• J = 2 points
• Q = 3 points
• K = 4 points
• 10s = 10 points
• A = 11 points

Closing the Deck

Game Scoring

The winner of each game scores one point. Should the losing player accrue fewer than 31 points, the winner receives two points; if no points are scored by the loser, three points are awarded instead. Players can agree upon a target score for game play, with 11 points commonly designated as victory’s threshold.
